AppreciationMessages.com is a writing resource for people who want to say thank you and mean it. We publish appreciation messages, thank-you notes, wishes and short tributes for the moments that come up in ordinary life: a colleague who covered your shift, a teacher who stayed late, a friend who showed up, a parent who never asked for credit.
Most people know what they feel. The hard part is finding words that sound like them and not like a greeting card. That gap is the reason this site exists.
What we publish
- Appreciation messages for family, friends, partners, colleagues, managers, teachers, mentors, clients and service staff.
- Thank-you notes for gifts, help, hospitality, interviews, condolences and professional favours.
- Occasion wishes for birthdays, anniversaries, farewells, promotions, retirements, graduations and religious or cultural celebrations.
- Short guides on tone, etiquette and timing โ when a text is enough, when a handwritten card is worth the effort, and what to avoid.
How our content is written
Every message on this site is written in-house in English by our editorial team. We do not scrape message lists from other websites, and we do not republish collections found elsewhere. When a page covers etiquette or workplace convention, we check the advice against recognised etiquette references and current professional norms before publishing.
Each collection is organised by relationship and situation, because the right words for a manager are rarely the right words for a sibling. We test our messages for length, tone and readability so they work as written โ in a card, a text message, a LinkedIn note or an email โ without editing.
Who writes for us
Our content is produced by writers and editors with backgrounds in copywriting, communications and content editing. Every page is reviewed by an editor before it goes live, and pages are revisited periodically so that wording, examples and etiquette guidance stay current. Where a page has a named author, you will find their byline and a short biography on the page itself.
What we stand for
- Original writing. Our messages are ours. You are welcome to use them in your own cards, texts and emails.
- Usable, not padded. We would rather publish forty good messages than two hundred repetitive ones.
- Respectful range. Gratitude is expressed differently across cultures, faiths and workplaces. We try to reflect that instead of flattening it.
- Corrections in the open. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. See our Editorial Policy.
